Cipatujah. Tadi pagi 14/09/2009 masyarakat pesisir pantai Pasanggrahan Kecamatan Cipatujah dikejutkan dengan terdamparnya seekor paus raksasa.
Paus yang memiliki panjang 11,75 meter dengan perut berdiameter 4 meter ini diperkirakan berbobot 4 ton dan perkiraan terdampar pada pukul 03.00 WIB dini hari.
Menurut camat Cipatujah Najmudin Azis SIP, pihaknya sudah berkoordinasi dengan dinas terkait diantaranya Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan serta Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Tasikmalaya untuk memutuskan apakah paus tersebut akan dikonsumsi atau di kuburkan.
Karena berdasarkan hasil penelitian sementara paus tersebut biasa dikonsumsi, hanya saja untuk yang ditemukan terdampar di Cipatujah ini pihaknya menunggu hasil pemeriksaan tim dokter hewan dari kabupaten. “ Nanti kalau berdasarkan hasil penelitian tim dokter , paus ini layak untuk di konsumsi, masyarakat sekitar diperbolehkan untuk mengambil dagingnya”, ujar Azis.
Sampai berita ini diturunkan 15.30 WIB, paus raksasa tersebut masih menjadi tontonan masyarakat yang datang bukan hanya dari Cipatujah saja, melainkan dari Cikalong, Bantarkalong, Karangnunggal bahkan dari kota Tasikmalaya. ( Yedi )

nambahin info. paus bukan ikan. dia mamalia yang hidupnya 100% di laut. klo ikan itu kelompok pisces yang bernafas dengan insang sedangkan paus bernafas menggunakan paru2, seperti mamalia lainnya (termasuk manusia).
Beberapa kejadian menunjukkan terdamparnya paus hampir bersamaan dengan kejadian gempa bumi seperti yang terjadi di Papua beberapa waktu yang lampau.
Apakah ada kajian mengenai kemungkinan keterkaitan terdamparnya mamalia laut tersebut dengan fenomena gempa bumi?
Paus dan lumba-lumba (ordo Cetacean) mengarungi lautan (dan sungai2 juga) dengan navigasi sonar. Jika ada gangguan terhadap sonar mereka, mereka bisa nyasar. Gempa bumi bisa juga membuat gangguan sonar, seperti yang terjadi di Tasmania Australia awal Januari tahun ini.
Yang jelas, banyak paus yang tercatat terdampar di sekitar saat bintik matahari (sun spots) sedang banyak2nya, sekitar 11 tahunan sekali.
Dan biasanya kalau ada gangguan alami seperti itu (sun spot atau gempa), yang terdampar berame-rame, bukannya sendirian. Sayangnya daging paus ini sudah dibagi rata, jadi sulit untuk dinekropsi penyebab kematiannya. Tapi kalo sendirian begitu, mungkin karena sakit, atau gangguan navigasi lainnya.
Bagaimana Cha kalo udah jadi dendeng bisa ga di teliti ?

Amerika Serikat dan beberapa negara maju sudah melarang penggunaan sonar berfrekuensi rendah karena membuat paus2 terdampar.
3. Apakah Paus tidak dapat berenang kembali ke perairan yang lebih dalam bila mereka kesasar ke perairan dangkal dan akan menyebabkan mereka terdampar?

Mereka jauh lebih tergantung pada pendengaran mereka dan juga sonar (yang dihasilkan oleh otak mereka). Jadi kalau transmisi sonar terganggu, mereka tetap bisa nyasar.
5. Paus bernafas dengan paru-paru. Tidakkah itu membuatnya dapat bertahan di daratan?
– Dehidrasi membuat paus tambah lemas (seperti manusia kalau kepanasan; tapi paus punya toleransi jauh lebih rendah)
– Perubahan tekanan udara yang drastis berpengaruh negatif pada paru2 paus yang biasa dengan tekanan air. Hal ini bisa membuat stroke dan juga penyakit kardiovaskuler. Perub tekanan juga bisa sebabkan melemahnya otot2 jantung paus.

Yang 1986 itu hiu atau paus? Ada memang jenis hiu yang namanya paus bodoh (paus bintang, geger lintang, whale shark, Rhyncodon typus) yang gede seperti paus. Tapi dia hiu karena ada insangnya (paus TIDAK ada insang sama sekali).
Yang 1993 sayang ga ada arsipnya ya… belon jaman internet sih waktu itu…
Dugaan saya dan teman2 adalah paus ini mungkin, mungkin berasal dari populasi yang sama dengan paus bongkok yang terdampar di Bali Oct 2007 lalu, karena bulan terdamparnya sama, dan lokasinya di selatan barisan Jawa-Bali (kemungkinan jalur migrasinya).

icha thanx infonya yg mendetail tentang paus,saya datang langsung ke TKP pas hari kejadian paus ini terdampar,pas awal ditemukan menurut nelayan setempat paus ini masih bernafas mungkin terlalu lama di darat, paus ini tidak bertahan lama,dan paus ini tidak lama kemudian dipotong2 dagingnya dan dibagikan,jadi paus ini belum membusuk jadi layak DIKONSUMSI.
Begitu… Wandar ada punya foto ekor bagian bawah atau sirip ventral yang putih nggak? Bagian2 itu penting buat ID populasi paus, karena paus bongkok biasa di ID (untuk individual markings) dengan underfluke (ekor bag bawah) atau siripnya.
Ttg konsumsi, gimana ya… itu memang kebiasaan masy kita untuk langsung makan apapun yang mendarat di pantai… padahal kita ga tau paus itu terdampar karena cuaca atau ada penyakit di dalamnya.
Just saying, orang harusnya lebih waspada dan tidak terburu2 mengambil tindakan.
